Salary Circ £25,000 depending on shift pattern.
The role of a Transport Operator supports the safe, legal and efficient operations of transport. It supports the Duty FLM and Transport Manager in ensuring all transport admin and systems are up to date in line with both legal and company requirements, as well as assistance in the full and effective brief, de-brief of drivers.
Transport Operators are dedicated to transport tasks and should have a good awareness of transport legal compliance.
o Supporting First Line Managers with accurate and timely daily brief & de-brief of drivers to the company standard
o H&S compliance, ensuring and promoting the best H&S Standards using Safe, sound check lists, safety conversations.
o Supporting the safe, legal and efficient execution of transport operations
o Collate all feedback against plan in the daily operations log for use in planning.
o Preparation & reconciliation of delivery paperwork, POD's etc.
o Tachomaster admin & reporting
o Reporting MOT failures, stoppages in Engineering Portal
o Administering defect process tyre management and bookings
o Production of daily/weekly/monthly transport reporting
o Administration of the fleet in line with Policies and Procedures
o Administration of the drivers in line with company Policies and Procedures
o Support change programmes and continuous improvement of the transport office
o Identification of cost performance trends - i.e. fuel performance/accidents etc
Ideally seeking a candidate with a background in Transport
Basic knowledge of Transport Legislation.
Able to work well under pressure
Good communication skills
Excellent time management
Ability to analyse and interpret data
