Transport Manager
Full time
Salary: £Dependent on experience

We are looking to recruit a Transport Manager to join a well-established haulage organisation based out of Gloucester.

Candidates must have proven International Transport Management experience.

The successful applicant will be looking after general haulage and international operations.

You will be joining a busy office supporting with organising, planning and scheduling a mixed fleet of vehicles delivering internationally.

Job description:
o Manage a busy transport office with a mixed fleet of vehicles
o Support in planning of vehicle routes with the operations team
o Maintaining the company transport system to monitor jobs, progress and keep on top of queries and ensure drivers are on track with their duties
o Ensuring drivers have been pre briefed at start of their shift
o Ensuring drivers are equipped with PPE
o Full communication with other members of the business
o De-briefing drivers on return, ensuring Tacho cards are downloaded, paperwork filled in correctly, folders are complete, POD's scanned, and the vehicle is clean
o Capturing infringement reports for drivers and ensuring driver is briefed and report is signed off
o Maintaining compliance of H&S, 14001 and 18001, policies and procedures
o Running the day to day international operations of the transport department
o Efficiently managing a team of drivers and vehicles
o Responsible for dispatching, routing and tracking of delivery vehicles
o First point of contact for drivers
o Inducting and training of new staff
o Regularly liaising with the employees and managers of the business to ensure the smooth running of interconnected departments
o Developing and nurturing customer relationships
o Resolving and managing queries and complaints courteously and efficiently
o Ensuring all site and customer objectives are achieved
o Providing a high level of customer service at all times
o Following the IT procedures

To be successful in this role you will:
o Have International Transport Management experience
o Proven ability to manage a team
o Good knowledge of IT including Microsoft Word and Excel
o Have an International Transport Operators Licence

Salary will be dependent on experience.
