Winners of The Queen's Award for Enterprise: International Trade, our client is a fast growing company looking for a Stock and Cost Accountant within their head office in the historic city of Bath.

This role would be suited to an individual who is looking for an opportunity to develop their career with a business who works in partnership with 5000 stores, in over 60 countries across the world. Being responsible for the management of stock purchases and reconciliations, we are looking for someone with an understanding of the accounting principles around stock and variance accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsibility of group stock purchasing and day to day management of accounting and transactions
• Cost reconciliation preparation and analysis of variances between stock landed cost factors and actual invoices, commitments and spend; requiring an understanding of landed cost build by product
• Building three month cash flow forecasts from known purchase orders raised and orders that are anticipated to come
• Period end close and reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Periodic review and investigation of all aged goods in transit balances and stock prepayments and deposits
• Posting of stock receipts against purchase orders, managing prepayments and following process to the approval for payments
• Matching stock receipts with invoices recharged from the purchasing entity
• Periodic stock reconciliations and challenging trading units around significant write-ons/offs
• Support and cover for the Senior Finance Assistant
• Full compliance with the Company Health & Safety policy

Person Specification:

• AAT qualified or equivalent with plans to study for further qualifications
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Strong Excel skills
• Previously worked with ERP/Finance systems including SAGE
