Due to company growth and development, we are currently recruiting for Site Agents to oversee our client in the utilities industry's programme of minor civil work across the business.
The successful candidate will be expected to operate and promote a high standard of health and safety by ensuring Method Statements and Risk Assessments are in place for all aspects of the works. You'll have to check drawings/specifications, identifying and resolving design conflicts. You'll be in charge of undertaking the management of Contractors and their supply chain, Sub-Contractors, whilst you work closely and report directly to the project manager. The projects that you'll be involved in will range from waste water and clean water, developer services, repair and maintenance and minor civil works.

The exceptionally broad skill set encompassing (responsive & planned maintenance, minor civil works, developer services, Health & Safety) is required for this opportunity whereby you will be responsible for the delivery of each project in your portfolio, with regular reporting to the Project Manager. You will liaise with operational specialists across our clean & waste water treatment plants and pumping stations, developing processes and procedures to continually improve and achieve a successful outcome to the project, keeping a strong customer focus.

What will this role involve?
Manage site activities to ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
Ensure work is executed in a safe manner and in line with company and legal guidelines.
Liaise with the Controller of Premises for any Pre-Construction information. Check and appraise Contractors Construction Phase Health & Safety Plans, Risk Assessments and Method Statements for safe execution of the works.
Liaise with the Controller of Premises to ensure the Contractor and their supply chain are inducted and aware of any relevant Site Hazards or Health & safety issues that may affect the works being carried out.
Liaise with the Contractor to provide the relevant documentation to support the construction process, including programmes, Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
Understand and implement the company systems, work with others to improve them.
Once checked, issue the relevant Contractors Construction Phase Health & Safety Plan RAMS to the Controller of Premises prior to works commencing on site.
Liaise daily with the Controller of Premises on any issues with the Contractors performance, resources and programme or site issues.
Lead all actions to solve technical difficulties, improve performance in terms of progress and quality.
Set working parameters, ensure their application on site, assess the performance.
Monitor the progress against the Contract programme to check to see if the works are on, ahead or behind programme and report progress accordingly.
Deliver performance in key areas of health and safety, environment and quality.
What skills are we looking for?
We are keen to speak to candidates who have relevant industry experience and qualifications (HND/HNC/BEng/NVQ Level 4 or above or equivalent, SMST) and a relevant CSCS card.
Previous construction and minor civils experience will be highly advantageous.
You will have a good understanding of accurate plans and drawings and be able to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion.
You will need good project management, communication and financial management skills as well as having sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulation.
Strong organisational, planning and time management skills; able to manage projects simultaneously without compromising on standards and quality.
Ability to develop friendly and professional customer focused relations with others
Good management skills, with the ability to motivate employees to achieve high standards of compliance.
Location and salary
This role is based at Maple Lodge / Kidlington / Chertsey and we are offering a salary of £38,000 - £45,000 depending on your level of experience.
