Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist
Salary dependant on experience
Permanent Role

Our client are an established NCE top 100 multi-disciplinary consultancy.  They are now seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist to join their friendly team. 

The role:
You will provide geotechnical / geoenvironmental services on projects of varying sizes and nature, working closely with colleagues in civil, structural and transport disciplines to provide geotechnical and geoenvironmental guidance.  The role with be a mix of office and site work; while in the office you will be primarily involved in technical design/reporting and assisting junior engineers, while site works will primary include our larger/complex ground investigation.

The Senior Engineer will:
  • Have a relevant degree such as Geology or equivalent.
  • Be chartered or actively working towards chartership.
  • Have significant experience in scoping and delivery of site investigations and be ready to pass on these skills to junior engineers.
  • Be skilled in preparing Phase 1 and 2 interpretative reports.
  • Have a working knowledge geotechnical design incorporating foundation solutions, slope stability, retaining walls, earthwork assessments, temporary works design etc.
  • Be used to incorporating technical guidance from CIRIA, BRE, British Standards etc. into design and reporting.
  • Have a geoenvironmental awareness and be familiar with contamination assessments and preparation of remediation strategies.
  • Be seeking increasing project management and client contact.
  • Enjoy sharing knowledge and best practice and be able to develop and coach less experienced members of the team.
  • Be able to deliver to meet our client’s needs and to quality and health and safety standards.
