My client is a leading Utilities connection company with the head office based in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, a London branch, a Warrington branch and various depot's nationwide. They currently have 235 staff and a turnover of £34m. They are now looking for an experienced Resource Supervisor to manage Craft resources to complete the installation of new gas & electricity networks on various sites across the London area
About the Role:
Key tasks and responsibilities:
*Provide the initial point of contact to craft teams for all technical, material and administrative matters
*Liaise with the scheduling team providing feedback to ensure craft teams are deployed in the most effective way
*Provide training and monitor the accurate completion of work instructions and test records on BORIS
*Ensure craft teams are completing works in a timely manner and efficiency opportunities are exploited
*Maintain morale and Instil a can do, customer focussed attitude into all craft teams
*Demonstrate, implement and enforce high standards of workmanship and safety in all areas - this includes the work of craft subcontractors employed to undertake work on behalf of the client.
*Trouble-shoot and identify problems; offer timely and safe solutions
*Carry out assessing officer duties where required in line with authorisation
*Conduct frequent audits on craft teams to ensure high standards of work and equipment maintenance conducting remedial action where required
*Assist with the development of craft team authorisations, maintaining their authorisations matrix and ensuring timely completion of training diaries etc.
*Carry out accident or incident investigations and produce a full report outlining the root causes and learning points, together with actions that need to be taken to prevent a reoccurrence.
*Act as liaison between Resource Managers, Craft Teams and Project Managers on a range of complex scheduling, operational and administrative issues related to all types of projects.
*Conduct annual appraisals for craft teams
*Complete craft duties if required in line with authorisations
What we are looking for:
*Strong people management experience (Essential)
*Previous Craft skills experience - electric and/or gas (Essential)
*Previous experience in the new utility connection industry (Desirable)
Qualifications / Skills:
*SSSTS (Site Supervisor's Safety Training Scheme) (Essential)
*Previous Electric and/or gas craft skills qualifications/authorisations (Essential)
*Driving licence - site visits form a large part of this role (Essential)
*NVQ Assessor training (Desirable)
*Ability to lead a team
*Ability to work well in a team and equally on own initiative
*An enthusiastic approach to coaching and developing others
*Strong communication skills
*Strong approach to customer service
*IT literate, to include Microsoft Office and scheduling software:
*25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, rising by 1 day a year after two complete years' service, up to a maximum of 30 days
