This highly successful and growing Tamworth based manufacturing business is seeking a Purchasing or Procurement Manager due to growth and ongoing business improvement activities. The company is a very solid SME business manufacturing for multi industries with an annual turnover in the region of £30m. We are now seeking a proactive Purchasing Manager to deliver the daily line management to a team of 4 while making proactive improvements and delivering cost savings through the supply chain.
You will be required to manage the delivery of the purchasing strategy by ensuring that all processes and activities are adhered to by the team. This will include people line management, coaching, mentoring, objective setting supported by ongoing reviews and appraisals.
In addition to team management you will be proactively delivering sourcing, bench marking, vendor consolidation, risk mitigation, process improvements, negotiating and ensuring planned activities are undertaken to ensure the business has all materials, goods and services, on time, in full and the best possible commercial terms.
In this position you will report to a Senior Supply Chain Manager. Your duties will also contribute to logistics solutions and inventory reduction activities all in line with delivering targeted cost savings and supporting the wider strategy.
The ideal candidate in this case will have prior experience of chemicals such as oil, solvents, resins and similar. Materials purchasing is based upon the bulk buying of liquid, oil, gel or powder substances with expiry dates or short shelf life. This is additional to all other areas of spend but experience of similar material/chemical purchasing would be of particular interest.
