Job Description


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a large, global and bespoke manufacturing company based in Accrington due to semi-retirement. They have an excellent reputation within their sector and this is an exciting time to be joining the business!


Joining a very friendly team of 4 and reporting to the Purchasing Director the role will be responsible for providing an excellent and efficient internal service level with a strong commercial focus and involve visiting and appraising suppliers to negotiate prices, service levels, payment terms and the evaluation of price offers. Duties will include ordering routine spares parts according to a stock system, ordering and managing the company stationery supplies, printing, PPE and workwear, working closely with the planners and production managers to ensure that changes to production plans are managed and stocks are checked, managing service level agreements for the vending suppliers and administering plant maintenance contracts. You will also maintain the fleet of company vehicles including repairs/annual services and MOT's, booking hire cars as requested and identifying , monitoring and updating a list of critical spares for all departments including the provision of information relating to lead times for replacement parts and minimum stockholding levels. Other duties to include supplier meetings, contract negotiation and working closely with the maintenance department to provide rapid turnaround solutions for obtaining spare parts required for critical projects.


Working hours are Monday to Friday 8;30am to 5pm with 1 hour for lunch, free parking, death in service and 32 days hol including BH. A salary between £17,000 - £19,000.


The ideal Candidate will have experience of working within an office/purchasing environment (not essential), be organised, dedicated and be able to work under pressure prioritising both time and projects. The ideal Candidate will also be able to work individually as well as part of a team and be enthusiastic and friendly in their approach.
