NPI Project Quality Engineer
(Automotive tier 1 manufacturer)
Salary: c£55,000 package including car allowance, pension, performance bonus
Location: Leamington Spa, Warwickshire
The main responsible of the Advanced Quality Engineer for the development advanced quality activities to produce products on time with the required quality, manufactured with capable means and processes, using validated supplies to meet the customer requirements and deadlines.
o Work alongside Project Manager & Quality Manager on new or resourced projects from RFQ stage through to final buy off and acceptance
o Involvement in all NPI/ APQP quality activities in line with customer requirements and IATF16949
o Compile documentation from prototype to SOP for NPI including Process Flow, PFMEA, Control plan, Work Instructions, Packaging Instructions
o Organise and facilitate Run @ Rate activities
o Liaison with customers to verify project schedules, budgets and quality
o Design concept, validation and buy-off of Gauge/Checking fixture
o Monitoring and meeting with suppliers
o Set up of measurement activities and analysis of measurement reports before feeding back to Project Management
o Support equipment project timelines and manage on time delivery and buy off
Knowledge and experience sought:
Applications are sought from experienced Quality professionals, who are either knowledgeable or have a preferred interest in Advanced Quality, New Product Introduction, APQP/PPAP and Forward Model Quality Planning.
o Ideally you will be educated to HNC/ Degree level, though equivalent relevant experience is readily considered
o It is essential that you have experience in Project Quality, creating control plans, PFMEA and APQP / PPAP documentation.
o Background gained in Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive supply chain
o There is a high degree of travelling involved in UK and possibly Europe with this role. Full driving license required
o Sound knowledge of automotive quality methods and tools (Control Plans, Gauge R&R, Run @ Rates, PPAP, FMEA)
o Superb communication & presentation skills
