Job Description

An exciting opportunity has opened at SQA based at Shawfair, Midlothian. The office is easily accessible by public transport and boasts excellent parking facilities.

£10.25 per hour
35 hours per week
Temporary contract starting ASAP potentially for 3 months

Job Purpose

To carry out the day to day administrative duties of a particular finance function thereby ensuring an accurate record of all financial transactions

Key Responsibilities

To carry out detailed checking of all documents received in finance for accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures prior to processing ensuring that they are returned to the originator for amendment if non-compliant

To accurately process documents/forms on a timely basis

To carry out other duties as required which assist in the effective cash management of SQA's cash flows (i.e. collecting debt and paying suppliers/employees etc in a timely manner)

To investigate and resolve both internal and external queries in a timely manner

To provide accurate advice of a procedural nature to members of staff from across the organisation and to external customers and stakeholders relevant to the finance section worked in

To report any system issues to either IS or SAP Administrator as appropriate

To be proactive in identifying areas for improvement and having input into the development of action plans

To ensure continued personal development by keeping abreast of current issues and legislation

Skills Required

Relevant finance experience

Good IT skills, particularly with accounting/payroll software and Excel

Excellent numeric skills

Excellent communication skills

An ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines

Good organisation skills and a methodical approach to their workload

Ability to identify and resolve a variety problems
