Our client based at Minworth, a market leader in their field of manufacturing, is looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join their team. With an attractive salary of £28,756pa with £4,122 shift allowance and additional benefits.
This permanent role offers variety with no two days being the same. The successful candidate will be required to provide effective breakdown, repair and maintenance, with key responsibilities being to reduce downtime, improve plant performance and reliability by identifying and implementing engineering solutions.
Your duties will include:
" Troubleshooting of known and unknown issues related to plant breakdown
" To minimise equipment downtime
" To diagnose and remedy equipment/plant faults
" Ensure that all parts required are booked out correctly and recorded as necessary
" Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks
" Practise continuous improvement, innovation and pro-activeness for improved ways of working offering possible solutions to problems encountered
" Work closely with production team to achieve production needs
" To comply with company policies and procedures
" To work under own initiative with minimal supervision
" To ensure H&S & Environmental procedures are maintained at all times
" To carry out all necessary IT based & manual recording tasks relevant to the operation of the department
" To undertake any other tasks required by your supervisor or manager
" To be trained on the operation side to aid with continuous production when required
To be considered for the role you must have the following knowledge and experience.
o Apprentice trained mechanical bias with proven time served experience / training
o 3 years' experience within a medium to heavy manufacturing environment
o Hands-on knowledge of mechanical plant machinery including pneumatic and hydraulics
o Bench fitting skills
o Experience in the use of overhead cranes and slinging techniques
o Experience in the use of Fork Lift Trucks(training will be provided)
o Proficient use of workshop equipment. (turning, milling, grinding)
o Able to use oxy/propane cutting equipment
o Able to Electric Arc weld and MIG weld
o Able to do basic pipework tasks
o Good fault finding and problem solving skills, coupled together with the ability to work under pressure
o Ability to understand engineering drawings
o General knowledge of health & safety standards and the ability to carry out on the job risk assessments
o Good organisational and decision-making skills
o Ability to make quick and accurate decisions
o Able to work alone or as part of a team
o Self-motivated, Pro-active and reliable
o Strong attention to detail
o Forward thinking
o Progressive attitude towards training
o IT Literate (Able to input work and times into a front line maintenance system)
o Good verbal, listening & written communication skills
The Maintenance Fitter will be working Monday - Friday on rotational days 06.00 - 14.00/14.00 - 22.00. Flexibility will be required to be part of the call out rota to cover breakdowns out of hours and provide holidays and sickness covered.
