We are now seeking to recruit a Maintenance Controllers to work for our client based in Chippenham. The appropriate candidate would be responsible for managing and control service, maintenance, mechanical and accident repair costs for the group and other customers by ensuring all work is authorised in line with specific customer requirements.

This is a temporary to permanent position and the appropriate candidate would ideally hold a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in motor vehicle repair or equivalent and will have long history of hands on mechanical repair or previous experience in similar role.

Maintenance management- authorise repairs and servicing costs to customer's requirements and chase manage vehicle servicing and repairs through the garage network for those customers paying for this service. Apply rigorous work authorisation and payment controls to ensure organisation achieves value for money through its maintenance and accident repair arrangements.
Ensure repairs are authorised and compliant in terms of current legal and safety standards that records are complete and auditable, and that organisation discharges its duty of care to its customers.
Identify opportunities to maximise value for money, improve quality of repairs, reduce downtime and improve customer service.
Ensure repairs are authorised and monitored to a timely completion for vehicles contracted out from garages.
To work productively and efficiently in the course of authorising and agreeing repairs and chase monitoring vehicle downtime.
To work within a team where a culture of high levels of customer satisfaction are developed and maintained.
To be proactive in monitoring achievement of the team against performance targets and to offer assistance to areas where targets are likely to be failing, if own area of work is within target.
Identify and suggest where improvements could be made to reduce costs or improve productivity or make the team more efficient.
To actively participate in team huddles, update your team's performance board and contribute in any continuous improvement workshops.

Minimum City and Guilds level 3 in motor vehicle repair or equivalent is desirable
Previous experience in mechanical repair in workshop
Knowledge of vehicle plant desirable but not essential
