Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our legal team as a Legal Assistant/Secretary. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to lawyers and enhance office effectiveness by handling clerical tasks, coordinating communication, and managing client information.
Responsibilities:
- Assist lawyers in preparing legal documents and correspondence
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Coordinate appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and court personnel
- Conduct legal research and compile data for case preparation
- Manage office supplies and equipment maintenance
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence
Qualifications:
- High school diploma; additional certification or degree in legal studies is a plus
- Proven experience as a legal assistant or secretary
- Proficient in MS Office and legal database software
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Familiarity with legal terminology and court procedures
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
