This local Alternative provision are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work with small groups of Key Stage 3 & 4 Students that are no longer in mainstream education. As a Learning Support Assistant you will be working with students that have a variety of Social Emotional and Mental Health needs.
A positive approach and resilience is vital in this role. You will need to inspire students that have become disengaged with education. There is certainly a lot to like about this role. You will help to run fun activities, take students offsite, and work alongside teaching staff to make a positive impact on all students.
- Working with small groups of students
- Making learning fun for disengaged students
- Providing support to teaching staff when needed
- Building rapport and trust with students
- Leading on fun classroom activities
- Have experience working as a Learning Mentor or Teaching Assistant
- Have worked with challenging behaviour
- Be able to break down barriers to communication
- Have a calm, patient and positive approach
- Be able to challenge students when required
