Job Description

Are you a Learning Mentor who has experience working with challenging behaviour? Do you want to work with students who have faced barriers to learning? This school is looking for a Learning Mentor with good behaviour management and a positive approach to work with Key Stage 3 & 4 students. You will need a good sense of humour and be dedicated to making a difference, as you will be working with children who have become disengaged with education.


The teaching and support staff have an excellent track record of inspiring and motivating students, and have been praised for their success. They are looking for someone who is dedicated to making a difference and can demonstrate resilience. There is opportunity for professional development as you will be given great support.


Job Role:
  • Inspiring and motivating students that have faced barriers to learning
  • Building rapport with students, getting to know their individual needs
  • Managing behaviour and implementing positive reinforcement
  • Keeping students engaged, both in the classroom and on educational excursions
  • Making a difference
Ideally, you will:
  • Have experience working as a Learning Mentor / Teaching Assistant
  • Be able to work with challenging behaviour
  • Have recent experience working with Special Educational Needs
  • Be resilient, confident and empathetic towards students’ needs
