Job Description

Pertemps Scotland Ltd are working with our client in Stirling to recruit for Events Officer on a temporary basis for around TBC. The roles are full time and the rate of pay is £12.53 per hour.

Full time, Mon - Fri although some weekend work may be required.

Key responsibilities, duties and objectives
  • Support all aspects of the planning and delivery of internal events and external (commercial and/or network) events, such as:
  • Responding to event enquiries within 48 hours
  • Liaising with internal and external clients
  • Working closely with other teams in the Technical Outreach & Education Department
  • Managing/supporting delegates such as issuing joining instructions and providing programme information
  • Managing/supporting speakers including booking travel & accommodation and gathering & testing presentations
  • Logistical planning - use of space, equipment, resource, organising field trips and visits, hiring suitable AV and external equipment such as marquees
  • Being the daily point of contact for our catering provider and submitting catering orders within agreed timescale
  • Providing on the ground support and co-ordination on the day of event
  • Carrying out post event analysis
  • Adhering to reporting requirements and following agreed processes and procedures
  • Covering front of house duties including visitor welcome, ensuring the health and safety of visitors, opening and closing procedures for the building, cash handling and retail sales.

This post would suit someone with a strong administrative background with a highly organised approach and proven track record in events planning and delivery in a fast paced and busy environment.

Essential requirements:
  • Proven track record of planning and delivering complex events, in a fast paced environment, to a high standard and within tight timescales
  • Awareness of event risk management and health & safety implications
  • Strong administrative skills and computer literate in Microsoft outlook products
  • Professional approach and the ability to communicate with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of visitor and client facing roles
  • Confidence to challenge assumptions, work independently and make informed decisions
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with great attention to detail
  • Experience of establishing and following procedures for information sharing and event planning
