Responsibilities and accountability:
*Technical and commercial evaluation of sales enquiries, ensuring that all relevant information is available
*Support the prioritisation and allocation of the sales enquiry to relevant members of the proposals team with clear instructions and objectives
*Preparation of proposal drawings, tender documents and estimate sheets in accordance with the appropriate standards and customer requirements, and within agreed submission dates
*Maintain accurate records of all tenders submitted, including associated documentation
*Regularly review current procedures and processes in order to identify improvements to the quality and accuracy of the tenders submitted including preparation times
*Support spares activity through preparation of cost estimates
*Work closely with Design and Projects team to identify discrepancies and issues with final costs and designs against original estimated costs; and action accordingly to prevent future reoccurrences
*Liaise closely with the senior management team and provide support to other areas of the business i.e. design, projects, manufacturing, controls, accounts, installation and commissioning
*Establish effective working rapport / partnership with key suppliers, acquiring of an in-depth knowledge of their respective products and services
*Maintain a working knowledge of all relevant legislation (i.e. Health & Safety, CE certification, etc.), customer practises and associated standards
*Embrace opportunities for additional training to meet demands of the business
*Adhere to strict health and safety working practices at all times
*Prepare and undertake presentations to customers on both a general and project specific basis.
*Support customer negotiations both commercially and contractually.
*Regularly review procedures in order to identify improvements to the quality and accuracy of the tenders and associated preparation times.
*On receipt of an order, arrange internal sales hand over meetings with all relevant disciplines, and with the support of the relevant members of the sales / proposals team. Ensure a smooth transfer of background information and project related details; and maintain an awareness of subsequent progress of the project, providing further support or guidance where required.
Experienced electrical engineer qualified to at least HNC.
Conscientious, hardworking, excellent communication skills, ambitious self-starter, experienced in proposals / estimating and management - preferably within a similar environment.
