Do you have experience in control electronics, electronic counter measures, applied electronics?  Our Client is seeking experienced Electronics Engineers to join their team as a course designer.  You will be predominantly responsible for the design, development and maintenance of technical courses.

The Course Design Team is a team of training professionals with various technical backgrounds including Communications, Radar, Control Systems, Medical/ Dental, Automotive, Metal smiths, Armaments that Design, Develop and support courses.

Role Responsibilities

  • Design and develop training courses from Training Objectives (TOs) produced by our client.
  • Produce controlled Course Training Package (CTP) documents for both equipment and career courses primarily in the Technician discipline in accordance with the Defence Systems Approach to Training.
  • Produce and evaluate précis, examinations and assessment packages
  • Carry out any other tasks as directed by your Line Manager.
  • Deliver pilot courses with instructors (where necessary).
  • Review existing training materials in order to work towards course design improvements and efficiencies.
  • Evaluate requirements and need for new training aids and advise on purchase of training aids.
  • Review suitability of e-learning.
  • Ensure areas are suitable for cleanliness, security, Health Safety and Wellbeing, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health and environmental and engineering hygiene, ensuring all students are fully aware of these requirements
  • Supervision of students and visitors to ensure full compliance with relevant Health & Safety Executive requirements and Personal Protective Equipment requirements as required by the Authority and as relevant to the equipment training department, ensuring risks are adequately assessed and minimised. Ensure the correct equipment is used for each task.
  • To ensure the Standing Orders and  Quality Management System (QMS) procedures, are understood and implemented in the course of carrying out any work tasks.
  • Participation in presentations to agencies and visitors.

Essential Qualifications

  • HNC/HND or equivalent in Electronic Engineering.
  • Ability to research new subjects, design and develop new materials for précis, assessments and projects. 
  • Carry out personal development to keep abreast of changes in technology.
  • An Instructional qualification, backed up by experience in this role.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Knowledge of technical authorship.
  • Knowledge of Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT).
