Job Description

My client SHB Vehicle Hire are currently seeking a Depot Manager to work on a permanent basis for their depot in Ashford. The business in a nationwide fleet hire company with a number of UK locations servicing their diverse fleet and extensive customer base.

*Manage all hire process and ensure that sufficient planning and preparation take place to meet our customers' requirements
*Manage the allocated fleet, ensuring minimum downtime and vehicle VOR. Assist in identification of fleet disposals and manage local disposal processes.
*Ensure the most cost-effective methodology is used for delivery and collection of hire vehicles thus improving efficiency and driving down the cost base.
*Assist in creating and managing the Depot business action plan
*Manage quality in all areas of operations to ensure our customers receive the best possible standard of vehicles and plan.
*Lead a diverse, multi-skilled depot team and ensure Depot remains fully staffed and motivated.
*Ensure all staff understand and comply with all company policies.
*Conduct all necessary disciplinary investigations and follow up actions in a timely manner.
*Timely submission of payroll to meet business needs.
*Ensure all obligations under our National Operating Licence are complied with.
*Ensure premises are opened in good time to comply with normal business operations. Closed and secured at the end of each working day.
*All damage to rental vehicles is identified and company process adhered to recover the costs of damage.
*Adherence to all company QSE policies.
*Ensure a random sample of quality checks on vehicle return paperwork for accuracy against vehicle return condition.

Key Skills
*Demonstrable evidence of managing a similar fast paced environment.
*Ability to lead, manage and motivate a multi-disciplined workforce.
*Good working knowledge of national transport legislation.
*Business standard IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
*Excellent communication and customer care skills.
*A good standard of both written and spoken English.
*Good self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work to tight timescales.
*Driving License
