Chef - Education Site - Alton

£17,268 + £1726 for 3 weeks overtime = £18,994

39 hours per week Monday to Friday only, no weekend working. Shifts are 7-3pm and 11.45-7.45pm.

Role Overview:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Diet Chef to join a college in Alton. You will be responsible for the organisation, preparation and cooking of special diets as specified by the Trust Dietician. The ability to produce food items to a high standard and good presentation is essential. The college itself caters for students ages 16-25, but also has a school attached to it with children as young as 2 attending.

Total: £17,268 per annum and if they want to work 3 weeks in the holidays rather than just term time only then there is an extra payment of £1,726.80 (10% of the salary) which would make a total of £18,994 per annum

Main duties and responsibilities as a chef

  • Help with meal preparation
  • Deputise in the absence of the 2nd chef
  • Adhere to health & safety legislation
  • Ensure high standards are kept up
  • Develop under the head chef
  • Make sure you adhere to dietary requirements

What you need to be successful in the chef role

  • Kitchen experience
  • Qualified chef - either City & Guilds 706 1/2 or NVQ Level 2 (not essential)
  • Able to work well as a team
  • Preferably live close by
