The purpose of this role is to liaise and communicate regularly with the Highway Authorities to respond, investigate and action any permit charges received across the entirety of Streetworks. There will be a variety of tasks to be undertaken on a daily basis that will broaden your knowledge of the business and provide you with an opportunity to develop your skills in a busy operational environment. What will this role involve?

This administrative role that requires high attention to detail and an analytical approach to your work.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

Investigate and process permit charges and attribute to relevant parties using multiple in-house systems.

Communicate efficiently with Highway Authorities and a range of internal stakeholders and external contractors and third parties.

Actively manage mailbox correspondence to keep all defect records updated for the daily reports.

Carry out thorough investigation / validation of charges to mitigate company and contractor liability.

Identify areas of concern within business units and/or contractors in order to mitigate avoidable costs.

Using effective negotiations with third parties, ensure that Thames Water receive, and pay for, only valid charges.

What skills are we looking for?

To be considered for this role you must have exceptional administration experience with an analytical mind-set, ideally with some Streetworks, water or wastewater exposure or industry experience. You will have strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills as you will be using and updating multiple systems at the same time. You should be IT literate, be able to adapt to using new software quickly, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to prioritise and work under pressure in a busy environment. If you have a background in process improvements or assisting with process implementations, this will also be strongly considered. Any experience with Vistec, Insight, SAP, JMS and GIS would be highly beneficial.

This role is based in Reading, Berkshire. Working hours are 36 hours per week 8am - 4pm or 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday

This is an ongoing temporary role and we are offering a hourly rate of circa £11.75
depending on skills and experience
