A fantastic opportunity within the Council's Catering Team for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join us as a Catering Assistant. The post holder will assist the Catering Management Team in providing an efficient and flexible service.
Harrow Council be opening a café in Harrow Park and require 2 Catering Assistants on flexible 20 hours a week starting from w/c 1 April.
In addition we require a further Catering Assistant who will assist in the preparation of a Meals on Wheels service to 120 vulnerable clients.

This role will work within a particular element of the service to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen and service. They will also ensure customer satisfaction by providing a friendly and efficient service.

The successful applicant will possess the following skills and experience:

-Basic knowledge of food and hygiene
-Customer service experience
-Working in a bust kitchen/restaurant environment
-Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
-Good communication skills; the ability to read, write and speak and understand English
-Ability to work well in a team

Duties will include:

-Taking responsibility for particular elements of the service, under the guidance of the Catering Operations Manager
-Assisting in the provision of meals and snacks for the service
-Assisting in the ordering and stock control for the department
-Undertaking all legislative checks
-Keeping the kitchen and restaurant environment clean and tidy
-Following food safety standards and procedures
-Promoting and encourage good customer service
-Using equipment and facilities appropriately
-Operating the tills
