Temporary until May 2019
Salary: £25,000 - £28,000
Full time 37 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for our client, Northern Powergrid based in Castleford. They are currently looking to recruit a Business Analyst to join their Strategic Planning and Delivery department to play a leading role in the implementation of a new employee initiative, based around KPI targets. This role will involve interaction across the senior leadership team of the organisation to develop, implement and then continuously streamline the process that delivers a high-quality product. Northern Powergrid's vision is to be the best energy company in serving their 3.9 million homes, whilst delivering sustainable energy solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for;
• Initial development and on-going operation of a Microsoft Excel-based infrastructure/linked database to administer personal scorecards for colleagues in the business
• Direct liaison with Executives and senior managers to agree appropriate personal scorecard KPIs and key deliverables
• Integration of scorecard metrics with existing Executive reporting data sets (e.g. weekly and monthly reporting)
• Timely update of actual performance metrics for personal scorecards on a monthly basis
• Ownership of a data work stream within the internal IT project to establish a new scorecard IT system, working with internal and US-based stakeholders
• Identification, development and implementation of process improvements to streamline the scorecard process and improve data management and reporting
• Bespoke data/business analysis for the Head of SP&D (as required)

Required skills and experience;
• Highly IT literate– advanced Microsoft Excel skills; able to manipulate data, spread sheets and workbooks using advanced formulas, pivot tables and macros/Visual Basic
• Highly numerate with strong analytical skills – able to produce variance and trend analysis of performance data, form logical conclusions and ask sensible and critical questions of the information
• Strong understanding of data management – able to enforce good data management practices that maintain data integrity (including accuracy, validation and governance). Proficient in the use of technical terminology and able to work with IT specialists
• Rigorous attention to detail – able to spot inconsistencies in data/information and challenge accordingly
• Outcomes and quality-focused – able to work in project teams to deliver outcomes to a high-standard and in a timely manner
• Excellent verbal communication skills - able to work comfortably with Executives/senior management as well as colleagues at all levels across in the organisation
• High standard of professionalism – able to conduct themselves and present information in a manner suitable for an Executive audience
• Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills - displays a sense of urgency, is able to work at pace, prioritise and deliver outputs under time pressure
• Sound judgement & decision making - proactive, works on own initiative and anticipates requirements
• Takes ownership and upholds standards - refuses to accept or ‘pass-through' sub-standard material, prepared to push back when standards aren't met
• Financially aware – able to understand basic accounting information and translate currencies
• Reliable and dependable – can be trusted to handle highly sensitive information

Essential Qualifications and Experience
• Qualified to degree level (or equivalent) preferably in a numeric or business discipline
• Maths and English (A* - C) at GCSE
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills – Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
