Job Description

The Education Network are currently undertaking a new venture and are very excited to have the opportunity to provide specialised tuition for vulnerable young people across the North East. We are therefore seeking hardworking, patient and nurturing 1:1 Tutors of Mathematics and English who are passionate about giving all children the best possible chance to succeed.

The 1:1 Tutors we provide are funded by an external organisation who aim to make sure that vulnerable, disadvantaged and Looked After Children are able to access a high-quality education. Tuition takes place in a variety of agreed settings and alternative provisions.


The ideal 1:1 Tutor will:

*Possess some form of teaching qualification e.g. QTS, QTLS, PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS etc.
*Be patient, nurturing, hardworking and organised
*Have strong subject knowledge in Maths and/or English
*Have recent and relevant experience in a similar role or a role which will equip you with the transferrable skills to be an effective 1:1 Tutor
*Possess an enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to obtain one
*Have a full understanding of the safeguarding responsibilities of a 1:1 Tutor
