Jaguar Land Rover, a signatory of the armed forces covenant, has been named the best place to work in the UK by a new survey.
Carried out for news agency Bloomberg by statistics portal Statista, the survey covered 15,000 UK employees, and included only companies that employed more than 500 workers.
Respondents were asked 35 questions about their employer and their perceptions of employers in the 23 sectors covered by the survey other than their own.
The luxury carmaker, which employs 35,000 people in the UK - where the vast majority of its workforce is based - came first out of 400 companies.
"Reputation and the atmosphere within a company is very important for employee satisfaction,” said Statista Analyst and co-author of the report Charlotte Edney.
“Colleagues working together, [doing] interesting work, being given the opportunity for training, all plays a part in that atmosphere and development driver.
“Jaguar Land Rover had a very high direct and in-direct score which means the internal and external perceptions of the company are very good."
As well as signing the armed forces covenant, earlier this Jaguar Land Rover won a gold award for its active support of the armed forces community. Over 200 jobs for ex-military have been filled at the company since 2013 and programmes include a placement scheme for wounded, injured and sick veterans. Jaguar Land Rover has also been a sponsor of the Invictus Games.
Jaguar Land Rover CEO Dr Ralf Speth said: "We at Jaguar Land Rover are immensely proud to have signed up to the armed forces covenant and to be recognised through this award.
"Service leavers are an excellent talent pool for Jaguar Land Rover and our supply chain, with skills that are transferable to an advanced manufacturing environment. We believe that there is a close alignment between our company's own valuesand attitudes and the unstoppable persistence of armed forces veterans."
