Are you an experienced Youth Worker, having worked with 11-18 age group?
Are you looking to gain valuable (PAID!) school experience?
Do you have access to transport, and can work in a variety of locations (Cheshire) at short notice?
The Education Network is currently seeking experienced Youth Workers who are looking to build upon their experience by working within local Secondary Schools as a Cover Supervisor. This is a classroom based role within local High Schools, however (in our experience) the student management skills that you have gained through youth work are ideal for this position. You will be covering class teachers who are absent from class that day (sickness/CPD/intervention) where work has been pre-set in advance. As Cover Supervisor, you will deliver instructions for the lesson, and ensure that students are working to the best of their ability. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience prior to applying for a PGCE or other teacher training, if this is a route you are exploring.
The successful candidates will:
- Have a minimum of six weeks experience working/volunteering with children or young people
- Be able to work in a variety of locations at relatively short notice
- Be confident and positive approach to working with children
- Be keen to learn and develop professionally
- Be able to work on their own initiative
- Be pro-active team members, committed to raising standards and achievements
- Have a passion for education and raising the achievement of all children
