We require a skilled and professional Teacher to provide either short term or long term support to children in Year 1 and Year 2 classes between the hours of 8:30 - 16:00pm, Monday - Friday. The role would include being able to provide learning through a number of different methods and materials to educate students about various subject matter. The ideal person for the role would be someone who is able to support children individually while also producing engaging lesson plans and delivery to bring the subjects to life in order to motivate and inspire students. You would be expected to plan and prepare lessons and deliver them to the class, with the ability to adapt them to various childrens preferred learning styles in order to gauge each child's level of understanding in relation to the subject.
You would be expected to keep up to date with marking of classroom work, and making sure pupils are engaged and participating during lessons by managing disruptive behaviour, meaning you need to be effective at communicating and monitoring behaviour. Attending staff meetings is compulsory and liaising with colleagues will be a big part of working in this role to ensure you are upholding the values and ethos of the school to become a valued member of the school community. This will be key to get an understanding of any upcoming events within the school such as open days, teacher training days, school trips and updates within the school. You will cover such things as Phonics, Topics and stories, and Maths skills as some examples of the curriculum.

The duties and responsibilities of this role will be as follows:
Reading, writing and SPAG support.
Adjusting or breaking down activities to support participation and understanding.
Develop a supportive relationship with the children that promotes self esteem and confidence.
To develop knowledge and understanding of the specific academic, physical, emotional and behavioural needs of the child and respond to them effectively.
To liaise with the Teachers and SENCO about the development and support needed at home and in school for the children.
Monitor and maintain records of the pupils progress.
To assist with general school duties which may include setting up classrooms, preparing resources and displays and tidying and clearing away
Supervision of children during lunch times and Supervision of children entering and leaving school premises.
Knowledge of development matters
Must be an outgoing individual with an ability to engage with pupils to have FUN while learning
Must be able to work collaboratively and competently within a team
Must be able to engage learners through play
Must have childcare Level 2 or above.
An understanding of SEN or learning needs.
Knowledge of the new KS1 and KS2 curriculum.
