World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Lead
Salary: to £40000 + benefits
Location: North West (commutable from Liverpool, Warrington, Chester, Wrexham, Manchester area)
As an Operational Excellence Manager –this is a key leadership role responsible for managing and driving the implementation of World Class Manufacturing across the site.
This role will look at technologies and projects in order to drive the business forward with a focus on reduction of waste and optimisation. The role will have a direct impact on Manufacturing performance KPI improvement, will interact with Plant Management team and functional experts within the business.
o Problem solving with application of advanced techniques and tools
o Improve the work place organisation and internal material flow, line balancing, application of low cost automation and robotics.
o Improve safety and environmental culture and performances
o Reduction of energy consumption and environmental impact
o Support plant digitalisation and automation projects
o Manage and drive the implementation of WCM activities for losses eradication within regional manufacturing context with direct impact on Manufacturing performance KPI's
o Providing WCM coaching for the plants, developing and managing WCM skills
o Interact directly with Plant Management and functional experts within the business and external contacts within WCM Organisation
You will already have significant experience in a similar World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Operational Excellence or Lean Six Sigma position, delivering world class manufacturing excellence with high volume manufacturing organisations.
o Degree Qualification preferred but not essential dependant on experience
o Six Sigma experience at Green Belt or above including proven implementation
o Good working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques and their implementation. Kan Ban, SMED, Singe piece flow, 7 wastes, 5S
o Working knowledge of the automotive industry, preferably some experience within a leadership role in a manufacturing environment
o Proven experience of implementation of workcell/plant layouts including Value Stream Mapping
o Excellent communication and presentation skills
o Ability to work on own initiative and develop and grow our WCM culture within the plant
o Excellent analytical skills with an ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral
