Job Description

Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for a Website Manager to join our team based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester (although the role will initially be home-based during Covid-19 restrictions). You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £35-40k per annum.
Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.
As Website Manager, the successful candidate will play an integral role in overseeing all website management activity for Human Appeal UK and Human Appeal’s partner offices in France and Spain, including website design, build, security, troubleshooting, testing, updating and general maintenance. We are ideally looking to appoint somebody immediately to this role.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Website Manager:
* Oversee the build, design, development and maintenance of Human Appeal’s websites in UK, France and Spain
* Protect income streams and business continuity through the provision of a stable and secure website, including timely troubleshooting of any issues
* Ensure an increase in population flow through the website due to its new design and improved UX, leading to an increase in online donations through Human Appeal’s website
* Oversee the build, design, development and maintenance of Human Appeal’s websites in UK, France and Spain
* Develop strong communication and working relationship with Human Appeal’s France and Spain offices, including undertaking regular visits to France and Spain offices
* Develop and manage a small team of Regional Web Developers, Officers, Assistants
What we’re looking for in our Website Manager:
* Degree-educated in a relevant field e.g. Computer Science
* PRINCE 2 Practitioner certification with 3 years' demonstrable experience is essential
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in website management is essential
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in people management is essential
* Proficient in Umbraco (version 7 or above) with previous experience of developing solutions on the Umbraco platform, including build and maintenance using Umbraco CMS,
* Previous experience working in e-commerce is essential and previous experience working at an NGO is desirable
* Experience in technology project management, using PM tools e.g. JIRA, Microsoft project
* Expert knowledge of enterprise websites, CRM (Salesforce), Adobe suite, Content Management Systems and W3C Web standards
* Highly proficient in HTML, XHTML, CSS design, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility, firewalls (functionality and maintenance), Access, mySQL and JavaScript
* Proven experience in agile and waterfall project management methodologies
* Experience in UX/UI web principles and development
* Fluent English is essential and any additional languages, e.g. Spanish, French, Arabic, Urdu are desirable
* Passionate and knowledge about the international development sector
