Pertemps are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of one of our key clients in the utilities sector. An experienced Warehouse Operative is required to join their growing logistics team in Slough.
The successful candidate will have extensive previous warehouse and inventory management experience.
You will work as part of the Inventory Operations and Supply Management team who are the custodians of mobile equipment and critical stock held at their distribution centres and business resilience hubs, operating on a 24/7 -365 basis in order to provide a distribution and equipment service to support the business.
As part of the Inventory Operations and Supply Management team you will be required to provide safe custody and real time visibility of their stock holdings as well as a first class professional delivery and collection service across all locations.

Their Logistics Management Centre (LMC) is a central, single point of contact for the business. As a centralised operation, The LMC combines mobile equipment from strategic suppliers, hire companies, partners and company-owned into one integrated unit. This allows them to meet customer demands and provide the most effective use of equipment across all company sites and operations, thus presenting an end-to-end, single view of logistics demand and capacity.

What will this role involve?
The Warehouse Operative will be:
Using the stock system, ensure that inventory levels in the distribution centres reflect real time holdings to ensure that system matches physical holdings.
Maintain the inventory levels at the network of always ready hubs, flood resilience locations and future strategic hubs within the catchment of the parent distribution centre to underpin the Company's commitment to our customers in that "we are always ready".
Comply with stock management principles and governance.
Undertake deliveries and collections in line with service levels.
Maintain the fleet of mobile assets and ancillaries to ensure that these are ready to go to meet operational orders and event support.
Comply with all relevant legislation and agreed procedures to ensure a safe and legal working environment and consistent quality standards.
Maintain a safe and efficient handling of vehicle in all respects, including the optimisation of fuel usage, cleanliness of vehicle.
Be responsible for the security of the vehicle & load at all times.
Ensure that all delivery and returns procedures are followed in line with Company and Customer guidelines.
Ensure all Company equipment is maintained, utilised and returned as required within operational processes to the transport office/depot daily.
Ensure Health & Safety requirements are met within Company and legal frameworks.
In addition to these duties, you may be required to undertake other duties in line with the needs of the business for example maintenance of mobile assets where appropriate training will be provided.
What skills are we looking for?
You will understand warehouse & inventory management systems as well as having knowledge of transport legislation and the European Working Time Directive. A fork lift truck license would be desirable.
You will have excellent communication skills and be confident in liasing with internal and external customer. You will also have a good level of numeracy as well as a basic knowledge Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Company information & Salary
This role is based at their site in Slough. They are offering a salary of between £20,000 and £25,000 per annum dependant on experience.
Working hours are between 6am and 6pm 38 hours per week. You may be required to work weekends to support with events or emergencies. Paid overtime will be available during events where we are required to support.
