The Vehicle Technician Trainer - Initial Trade Training (ITT) role is based within our Defence Training business area.

As a Vehicle Technician Trainer - Initial Trade Training (ITT), you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll deliver training on military wheeled platforms.

Day to day, you'll prepare and deliver instruction on course modules in the Initial Trade Training Department in support of the Defence College of Technical Training (DCTT) Electrical Mechanical Engineering Training Contract (EMTC) including lesson plans, training aids, workbooks and trainee handouts, prepare relevant training material, where necessary collaborate with the Media and Graphics Department for input to create relevant Initial Trade Training material for delivering training and maintain a Continuous Personal Development (CPD) portfolio in respect of new technologies and equipment, ensuring lesson plans and training sessions are developed in accordance with the approved Learner Specifications; Course specifications and Course Training Plans (CTP).

You'll also assess trainees to include: creation of written examinations and progress test papers, creation of practical assessment / examination scenarios and continuous assessments, marking of examination papers, setting and marking of course and homework and invigilation of examinations and assessments along with reviewing course material and content ensuring it is current and evolves to support equipment and technology advances, using the most appropriate training aids.

Essential experience
NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (heavy automotive vehicle, plant machinery, or Initial Trade Training machinery)
Vehicle Technician background
Strong team player - ability to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders
Organised, great time management and proactive manner
Clear and effective communication - written and verbal
You must hold or have the ability to obtain SC security clearance
