Job Description

We currently have an opportunity available for a part-time 1:1 tutor who has the patience and an understanding of supporting pupils with varying social, emotional and mental health needs.

You will be responsible for tutoring the young people, helping them to make progress in their education by providing 1:1 support and access to learning across the areas of Llandudno, Colwyn Bay, Abergele etc. This is a rewarding role requiring an appreciation of working with vulnerable young people in either their home environment or in the local community. Hours are flexible across the week and can be organised to fit around any other commitments you may have.

We have trained thousands of PGCE students who gained their Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and provide the necessary training and support to help aid the time you lost in the classroom through Covid-19.

You will often find us alongside our supply staff in schools and will provide you with experience, empathy, and a platform to showcase your strengths in the hope of gaining permanent employment.

What will I be expected to do?

Your role will be to engage pupils in their learning. You will be expected to manage behaviour, deliver lessons and ensure pupils are provided with the opportunities to learn and express themselves. 

What qualifications do I need?

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

What skills or qualities do I require?

The schools we work with are looking for someone who is committed, compassionate and a team player. You will easily nurture relationships with pupils and have a passion for providing them with a platform to learn and succeed.

What experience do I require?

You will have recent teaching experience or will have recently completed a relevant teaching qualification (we welcome interest from Newly Qualified Teachers).

What registrations do I need to hold?

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, but if you don’t have one, you will have to apply for a new one through Educate
If you wish to work in Wales, you will need to register with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)
