To ensure the smooth operation of all fleet vehicles, route plan, assist with breakdowns, licence checks and ensuring all 14 drivers are looked after.
To ensure all deliveries are completed and dispatched daily.
Routing drivers to ensure the most economical route is taken, no vans to go overweight.
Monitor holiday cover and peak periods.
Maintenance and servicing of all vehicles including all checks.
Looking after the tracking system on all vehicles.
Maintenance of grounds and machinery.
Ensuring all deliveries are carried out including making some themselves if required.
Liaising with internal departments over deliveries and special requirements.
Good IT skills.
Recruiting new team members.
Making sure that all personnel are trained to the expected standard of each individual job role.
To be available out of hours if the alarms are sounded (key holder).
To complete all the returned collection notes that have been processed ad placed in the collection area daily, and returning to credit control on completion.
Ensure all damages and shorts are reported to the purchasing department.
To ensure that the vehicles are being utilised to their full potential, ensuring that delivery performance is being managed.
Run an order status report daily ensuring that all orders are captured and if any underlining issue that is preventing dispatch then this is communicated to the sales team.
To communicate to the Warehouse Supervisor at all times on decisions that could affect the daily performance of the contract.
Covering the Warehouse Supervisor when they are on holiday.
Run picking sheets for the warehouse team.
To collect and process all orders that have been placed from the answer phone/fax machine that is for delivery prior to vehicles leaving.
Ensure all documentation is available for each deriver prior to vans leaving.
To conduct circle counts (stock take) assisting in improving stock accuracy and aiming for a 99.8% accuracy level.
Ensure all purchase orders are receipted for all stock that has arrived, releasing stock for all deliveries due out the next day.
05:00 - 15:30 subject to business requirements.
