Transport Planner & Purchasing Assistant

Role
Pertemps Kettering are recruiting for a Transport Planner & Purchasing Assistant for our Corby based client. Reporting to the Demand Planner the Transport Planner/Purchasing Assistant will be required to look after Transport booking and various administration duties within the Supply Chain Department.

The role requires the candidate to work as part of a small team and have good communication skills along with an attention to detail, a sense of urgency to complete tasks on time and a readiness to take on new tasks and suggest potential improvements to the process. Success in this role will be appraised based on meeting these criteria and cost targets.

Transport Skills Required
Arranging transport with specified hauliers, ensuring goods are collected and delivered on time to our customers and within agreed parameters of 72 hours from job completion
Booking in Finished Goods with customers ensuring this is done in time to meet their needs
Liaising with Customer's for Collections of finished products
Liaising with Sales Department over despatch dates
Working with the warehouse over space availability and ensuring minimum finished stock holding
Managing make to stock holdings
Raising Finished Goods Delivery Notes
Warehouse Part Pallet checking ensuring pallet part are correct quantities being despatched
Entering in details on works orders on time excel spreadsheet
Booking in Raw Material Supplier Deliveries making sure warehouse is not over booked
On Time in Full Reporting
Liaising with pallet suppliers for booking in / out, ordering pallets as required for the factories finished goods requirements.
Checking and signing off transport invoices
Obtaining transport quotes as required
Creating reports as required
Maintain current cost spreadsheets

Purchasing and Admin
Raising works orders
Works Order transfers
Setting up new products as required
Booking raw materials into Sage as required
Reviewing and updating the plan
Reviewing raw orders accordingly
General Admin duties
Key performance indicators will be based on your suppliers with the following criteria.
Supply on Time based on shipping out finished goods
Provide support for the Supply Chain Operations Director as required.
Conduct any other additional quality or business-related activities as required and directed by management.

The role is Monday to Friday and will pay £20,000.00.
