Job Description

The Company: Our client is a leading provider of highly efficient, cost-effective processes for upgrading copper telecoms and power cables worldwide. The company is in the process of scaling up its operations to enable clients to upgrade legacy networks to optical fibre or new power cables.    

Role: Our client is seeking an ex-military Training Manager to manage the delivery of their Clients training and transfer of knowledge of their equipment and processes, both internally and externally to contractors and/or client's teams. Duties include identifying the training, employee  and client development needs creating training materials and implementing staff and client training programmes

Responsibilities:

   Determining and assessing an organisation's and client training and employee training and development needs

   Creating training materials and programmes to address specific business objectives

   Writing reports, keeping records and managing training budgets

   Working with employees, client teams and management to ensure the achievement of training objectives

   Monitoring and assessing the effectiveness and success of training programmes

   Keeping up-to-date on the latest training trends, developments and best practices

   Identifying and implementing a wide range of training techniques to improve efficiency and returns on investment

   Managing employee and client enrolment for training, schedule training sessions and organising the resources to facilitate training programmes

   Client training programs will be delivered in the local language and training teams may need to be recruited and managed for this purpose

   The training team will be expected to have a full knowledge to the process vs the client needs and work jointly with the OP and R+D teams developing existing and new training and knowledge transfer processes.

   The training team will be expected to invest time in the field supporting and leaning from the operational teams during the R+D , testing and client assessment process.

   Onsite client and partner liaison and management focusing on effective training delivery and productivity delivery of our Client's process in the field. 

   To project manage the delivery of the training project from start to finish.

   Supporting delivery to the client/ civil contract partners by providing training advice and methods during the project.

   Monitoring the performance of the training programme and make changes as required to ensure the best outcome.

   To build an excellent working relationship with all team members.

   Working to the Health and Safety requirements set by the clients and partners ensure all the training is compliant.

   The Training Manager will be required to exceed your agreed goals and objectives by creating and maintaining an effective mode of operation to ensure that all team members stay focused and achieve their KPI's and SLA's.

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  1. Experience of working in the field' and training field operatives in their role. 

  2. Experience of using and training technical processes with a good understanding of principles used in mechanical operations.

  3. Excellent communications, delivery, and teamwork skills. 

  4. Excellent documentation skills using Microsoft Office products. 

  5. Management experience in technical processes in the field'. 

  6. Competent in activity planning and time management.

  7. Self-managing and prepared to travel and deliver international training in the classroom and the on-site. 

  8. Experience in delivering training to small teams, assessing progress and developing the training programs and delivery methods to achieve the best results.

  9. Ability to communicate and develop relationships with end customers. 

  10. Ability to manage and work with a team.

  11. Awareness of Health and Safety. 

 

Desirable Skills

  1. Commercial awareness and working to budget.

  2. Providing support to the wider team as required. 

  3. Telecommunication and/or power cables experience. 

  4. Train the trainer experience

  5. Teaching in varied environments to different nationalities. 

Term: Full time 

Working days: Mon-Fri, 9.00am-5.30pm - flexibility required when deployed on client projects

Bonus  

Probation period: 3 months
