Job Description

A temporary to permanent position has become available to assist with the smooth and efficient day to day running of the Transport Office for our clients busy logistics operation. You will ensure drivers are briefed at the start/end of each shift, routes depart/arrive as per planning schedules and general transport administration duties are completed.

This position is Monday to Friday and on-call every fourth weekend. The hours are rotated amongst the team between 5am - 7.30pm.

You will be responsible for:
Thorough daily briefings and de-briefings of all drivers
Monitoring the daily operational plan highlighting delays and issues
Ensuring all office administration is completed in an accurate and timely manner
Completion of KPI reports as required
Familiarising yourself with all legal Company requirements and procedures, and ensuring compliance
Providing flexible cover to support as required
Tachograph control for issue and return from drivers
Ensuring drivers follow SCW procedures, escalating via chain of command any occurrence that could result in charges being raise against the company.
Any late runners/delivery must be escalated using appropriate chain of command this to include the Customer
Report any shortages/over's and damages, ensuring all details are accurately recorded using VISION operating system
Monitoring the real time performance of drivers and the fleet, escalating any area of non-compliance
Escalating any areas on non-compliance or failure/vehicle breakdown quickly within the appropriate route to reduce risk in financial penalties being taken
Manual operating system complete T&A time entries
Copy licences and drivers CPC at the beginning of 1st shift
Liaising daily with the planning department and agency on driver availability
Interviewing driver and prepare appropriate paper work for Collision Reporting to include D&A test callout
Control and monitor all on site shunt activities

You will require:
Problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of Road Traffic Legislation
Sound Knowledge of Drivers' Hours Legislation
Flexibility - Overtime / holiday & sickness cover
Good telephone manner
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel skills
