The role
The difference our new Test and Integration Lead - Skynet will make
As a Test and Integration Lead Skynet you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Supporting the vital Skynet Service Delivery to deliver significant System upgrades bringing innovation and modernisation. Reporting to the Head of Transition, you'll also be part of a multi-million pound programme of technology change. This is a fast-paced, challenging role on a significant project where modelling is integral to the project success.
Day to day, you'll lead a team of test and integration engineer. You'll own and deliver Test Plans and Test Procedures in accordance with project ITEAP, with a specific focus on Networks and software along with managing Test and Integration Facility tools, processes and activities. You'll undertake VV&T activities on new and modified products across a range network and satellite equipment and software within a structured upgrade programme. You'll be proactive in your approach, you'll have excellent leadership skills combined with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment with new and exciting challenges each day. You'll represent Babcock at stakeholder meetings, Governance forums, Design Reviews and Readiness Assessment activities where VV&T are a key part of Assurance activities.

Essential experience
Proven experience in managing and/or leading engineering teams (essential), ideally within a test systems discipline (desirable)
In-depth knowledge of Systems Engineering processes on large and/or complex engineering projects, and acceptance of these
Demonstratable experience in the defence or telecommunication industry, ideally MILSATCOM but not essential.
Understanding of change and configuration control process
