Reporting to the Senior Telecoms Manager, the Avaya Specialist Engineer will participate in maintaining, developing and deploying both EU and global engineering designs and solutions. They will ensure reliable and efficient EU & global design and delivery of engineering solutions and performance. The successful candidate for this role should have experience in both the installation and support of the Avaya platform.
The primary functions & responsibilities of the role:
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to design, architectural configuration, routing, processes, and service records.
Take initiative to proactively discover potential impacts or constraints.
Participate in and lead problem resolution and cause analysis across EU and Global Telecoms platforms.
Liaise with & manage third party suppliers/providers for fault resolution.
Contribute in developing, implementing and maintaining policies, procedures, and associated training plans for design & architecture, usage, and disaster recovery.
Design, build & engineering of new and enhanced contact centre & Telecoms solutions.
Oversee & lead installation of new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades & patches.
Collaborate with Senior Engineers in the team & other technology disciplines in problem solving, design, new installs.
Routinely manage complex changes and Telecoms issues.
Assist Solutions engineer teams in solution design & presentation of technical solutions to customers.
Work laterally with the business, Operations and Product to create, design and implement forward thinking design and topology.
Mentor & provide guidance to Junior engineering & NOC personnel.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Third level qualification or equitable industry experience
Avaya certifications similar to the below
Avaya APDS certification ( Avaya profession design specialist)
Avaya ACIS ( Avaya certified Implementation specialist)
Avaya ACSS certification (Avaya Certified support specialist)
Verint V11/V15 WFO & QM install and support specialist
5+ Years' experience in contact centre/Avaya/Verint & Telecoms industry
Experience in installation & maintenance of Avaya xCaaS platform.
Advanced knowledge of Avaya Aura contact centre platform & supporting architecture(s), I.E. ACM, Session Manager, System Manager, AES, AVP
Avaya Proactive Contact/PDS outbound dialing
ACME Packet/Oracle & Avaya Sipera SBC's
Avaya POM & Avaya Experience portal, Avaya Breeze
SIP/H323/IP/SS7/ISDN protocols & connectivity
Familiarity with OSIX/Polystar SS7/SIP Monitoring tools
Verint/Avaya call recording platform
Experience with installation, support, configuration of Bright Pattern Omni-channel platform (not essential)
CTI integration & Adjuncts
Cisco/Aspect ACD & Networking products is desirable but not essential
Knowledge and experience of ITIL processes; in particular incident management, problem management, and change management are desirable but not essential
Self-driven & able to work independently and take own initiative
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability & comfortable to problem solve and work both by self & in team/group
Flexibility to support new and different systems as and when required
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to clearly communicate technical information to diverse audiences desired
Travel will be required on occasion as necessary.
Experience of working across time zones and with multiple International IT functions would be desirable
Available to respond to critical out of hours issues as necessary
