Birmingham and Remote  

Salary: £45K - £52K 

Are you a Technical Specialist with expert knowledge in Citrix and Virtualisation?

As a Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance to the infrastructure team and supporting the Virtualisation and EUC engineering team in the advanced troubleshooting of customer's environments.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide technical guidance for infrastructure team

  • Support the Virtualisation and EUC engineering team in the advanced troubleshooting of customer's environments

  • Manage incidents and problems appropriately within agreed service levels

  • Perform technical root cause analysis on recurring incidents

  • Ensure technical documentation is completed and updated to professional standards

  • Identify technical problems and potential service improvements across customer's Virtualisation and EUC environments

  • Ensure correct configuration of all Virtualisation components and supported technologies, including, but not limited to, VMware, Hyper V, Citrix all versions

  • Contribute to delivering technical excellence across the Virtualisation and EUC team

  • Identify, contribute, and work towards the technical and service goals defined by DCS management



Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven hands-on experience supporting technical environments

  • Advanced technical knowledge of Citrix technologies (XenApp, XenDesktop, Netscaler, App-V, AppSense, CAG, CSG, EdgeSight, Director, PVS/MCS, Thin Clients)

  • An excellent understanding and practical knowledge within several of the following technologies: Cloud Technologies and Environments, Microsoft server products (Windows 2003 to 2012 R2), VMware / Hyper-V

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex, technical, multi-site, and multi-disciplinary problems and incidents

  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

  • Excellent and demonstrable communication skills, both written and oral with strong presentation skills
