Technical Sales Engineer

PCE Instruments UK Ltd is a small engineering sales business in Southampton.

Our branch is part of an international group of companies headquartered in Germany that manufactures, supplies and calibrates precision measuring instruments.

To strengthen our team at the UK sales office, we are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer. The role focuses on product selection, support and troubleshooting for our customers on the instruments they purchase.

This is an ideal opportunity to grow in the role and learn about an interesting and ever-expanding range of instruments and the application scenarios of a diverse, global customer base.

A technical/engineering background is required, demonstrated by engineering qualifications and/or previous job roles. Subject knowledge should include mechanical, electrical or electronic engineering or a related field.

Experience of measuring instruments is not required as training will be provided and you will have full support from our other technicians.

 

Main Responsibilities

- Advise customers on their product requirements by phone and email.
- Provide technical product support to customers and the sales team.
- Create customer quotes in ERP system.
- Process product returns and assess for repair.

 

Other Responsibilities

- Create technical product documentation, e.g., user manuals.
- Any other task as required by a small team.

 

Skills & Experience

- Engineering background.
- Confident use of MS office.
- Previous experience of ERP system (desirable).
- An understanding of technical requirements and technical drawings (desirable).
- English fluency.
- Full driving licence.
- Passport (expected travel to German HQ for 2 weeks of training).
- A team player, motivated, reliable, and adaptable.

Full-time, 40 hours per week (M-F 08:00 - 16:15).
