Job Description

Technical Engineering Manager Purpose of Role To lead, develop and coach their respective Technical Sales Specialists to create a high performance culture. Achieve sustainable and profitable sales growth by achieving targets through effective team leadership. Deliver the sales strategy for the commodity group, and ensure adherence to defined policies and procedures. Role Responsibilities The Territory Technical Manager will be responsible for: Managing a team of Technical Sales Specialists within the relevant commodity sector (Metal Working/PPE/MRO) Collaboratively (with the Technical Director) ensuring targets are set based on the commodity sales strategy Communicating targets to the Technical Sales Specialists To set promotional campaigns where relevant Manage and monitor campaign and promotional activity performance Managing individual and team performance effectively in line with performance indicators, targets, objectives and policies Ensure delivery of KPI and performance objectives Conduct regular performance reviews (individual and team) Develop and improve individual and team performance through the identification of training and development needs Regularly review PDP activity and progress Coaching for skills and behavioural improvement Ensure accounts are allocated in line with the role account profile, taking into account local sales areas and geographical boundaries Ensure effective call plans are set and actively monitored Ensure relationships are maintained with key customers Positively and effectively leading change to ensure clear understanding and engagement with the change initiative Ensure engagement with relevant cross-functional stakeholders at all levels within the business To proactively analyse local markets to identify likely changes in customer requirements and the impact on the sales environment General Responsibilities Ensure the Company standards for delivering a distinctive Customer Experience are at the forefront of all business interactions. Ensure the Company HR Policy and Conditions of Employment detailed in the Employment Guide are applied in all areas of responsibility. Ensure all requirements of the Company Security and Anti Bribery & Corruption policies are observed and adhered to. Promote a professional image of Cromwell Group and comply with the Equal Opportunities and Business Conduct policies including work related events which take place outside normal working hours. Role Requirements Experience and Knowledge: Previous experience of managing an external sales team Experience in all aspects of planning and implementing a sales strategy Minimum 5 years working within the relevant commodity industry (i.e. Metal Working/PPE/MRO) industry Being end user focussed Proven success through others Presentations at senior level Analysis of sales performance Essential Qualifications & Skills The ability to motivate and lead a team Hungry, driven and highly motivated to succeed Tenacious and articulate Results orientated Excellent verbal and written communication (inc. listening and negotiating skills) Excellent IT skills including comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint Good budget and report writing skills Highly flexible and self-motivated Valid UK driving licence
