Job Title: Technical Administrator
Location: Kemble
Salary: £22,000-£25,000

My client, a local engineering company specialising in the manufacture of bespoke machinery are currently recruiting for a design office administrator.
Main purpose of the role is to assist the design department and help with document control - project spread sheet, packing lists, manuals, drawings and other documents.

Key tasks:

*Design Work Planning/Budgeting: processing orders for Design/R&D work, manage departmental work plan using Microsoft Projects with weekly updating.
*Monitoring design cost against allocated budgets.
*BOM updates - dealing with issues discovered in production, applying new changes across relevant family of BOMs.
*Spare parts - identification and numbering.
*BoM restructuring - providing some help to this major new project.
*Part Number creation - assisting DO Manager in creation of numbering schemes and implementing.
*Archiving - identifying correct versions and archiving/flagging old machine versions and use Sage tools to categorise.
*Introducing and implementing a new system for checking that all requirements have been met before BoM is released to Production.
*'Vault' drawing data management system - administrating the system and checking that all drawings have been filed correctly and on time.
*Batch plotting - reviewing and implementing a new system.
*Interface with Sales/Projects/Production:
*Machine 'Cheat Sheets' - creating sales support information - for instance with critical data for inlets/outlets for machines and associated part numbers.

Person specification

*Computer literate with working knowledge of: Microsoft Office suite - especially Excel
*Knowledge of Sage 200 or similar
*Attention to detail, structured and methodical
*Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
*Some planning experience - MS Projects ideally.
*Enjoys problem solving
*Some experience of Bills of Materials.
*Ability to read drawings would be a great benefit (not essential).
