Vision for Education are urgently seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work with young people aged 12-16 years, that have been excluded from their mainstream schools. The ideal candidate will have an understanding or experience of young people or learners, who can display challenging and difficult behaviours. This specialist setting aims to provide an environment where young people can feel at ease and work through the obstacles that have got in the way of their mainstream education. You will be supporting young people in a range of subjects and excursions and the job is due to start in January 2021. It will be a long term and eventually permanent placement for the right person.
To be considered for the role you must:
Be available for work 5 days a week, Monday-Friday.
Understand young people or learners who can display volatile behaviours
Be prepared to support in a range of lessons and weekly excursions
Have access to a car and be willing to travel for work.
Be versatile, flexible, confident and can adapt your support style to engage students with a wide range of special educational needs.
Have a positive, flexible, and upbeat mentality and a genuine interest in pursuing a career working with individuals who have special educational needs.
