Job Description

Due to increasing demand in the Leeds area we are currently looking to recruit some teaching assistants with a minimum of Level 2 childcare qualification to support across our schools in the LS6 and LS7 region of Leeds. You should be available to support across the schools on an 'ad hoc' basis or for longer term positions. The role will be supporting the learning and development of pupils across KS1 and KS2, but you should state your preference upon your application. Flexibility and adaptability to taking on new challenges and roles will be essential to the success of this position. Ideally you would have some experience of supporting pupils learning in Key Stage 1 or 2. You should have a good understanding of the best ways to support and engage pupils. The role involves being available between the working hours of 8.(phone number removed) days a week.

Key responsibilities:

Support the pupils with their learning in 1:1, small groups and the whole class.

Collaborate with the class teacher regarding expectations and organising appropriate activities.

Liaise with other professionals within the setting eg. Teachers, TAs, specialist support staff.

Support the monitoring and tracking of all pupils in line with the assessment procedures in school.

Essential Requirements:

Experience of working in a KS1 & KS2 environment.

Be comfortable and competent working as a collaborative member of a team.

Ability to engage with the pupils and have FUN through learning!

Be creative and proactive, not always working under direction.

TA qualified - Level 2 or 3.

Desirable Requirements:

Knowledge of the new KS1 and KS2 curriculums.

An understanding of SEN or learning needs.

Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
