Job Description

Teaching Assistant wanted to work with challenging behaviour at an alternative provision that supports children have faced barriers to education. As a Teaching Assistant you will be supporting the class teacher, providing both academic and behaviour support. The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who has experience working with challenging behaviour and Autism. This role is ideal for someone who cares about education, and ensuring that every child is given the chance to succeed.


With an excellent team in place and dynamic leadership, this school has been very successful in supporting children who have faced significant barriers to education. You will enjoy working with small classes, and have the freedom to be creative within the classroom. Tailoring your approach for individual children is encouraged, and the class teacher will provide you with excellent guidance.


Job Role:
  • Providing, academic and behaviour support
  • Building rapport with students, getting to know their individual needs
  • Supporting the class Teacher
  • Leading fun and educational activities for students
  • Making a difference
Ideally, you will:
  • Have experience working as a Teaching Assistant
  • Be able to work with challenging behaviour
  • Have recent experience working with Special Educational Needs
  • Be resilient, confident and empathetic towards students’ needs
