Job Description

Teaching Assistant required to work on a 1-2-1 basis with a child who has been excluded from mainstream education. This school are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and can enable this male Key Stage 4 student to reengage with education. You will need to build positive rapport and take an interest in this the social and academic development of this child, alongside maintaining a professional relationship.

If you are a Teaching Assistant that has experience working with Key Stage 3 & 4 students who have faced barriers to learning, this is a great opportunity. You will be responsible for motivating and inspiring this student and be given full support from teaching and leadership staff.

As a Learning Mentor in this role you will be responsible for managing behaviour, engaging with students and supporting the class teacher. This Alternative Provision requires excellent behaviour management and abundance of  patience and a positive approach. Job Role:
  • Providing 1-2-1 support as a Teaching Assistant
  • Building rapport with students
  • Delivering fun activities for students
  • Managing classroom behaviour
  • Providing high quality academic support
 

Ideally, you will:
  • Have experience working with challenging behaviour
  • Be a qualified Learning Mentor or Teaching Assistant
  • Be resilient, creative and fun
  • Be able to motivate disengaged children
This role is located a short commute from Dudley, Halesowen, Birmingham, Tipton and surrounding areas. With a great team and dynamic leadership this is a great opportunity for a Learning Mentor who is looking to make a difference to the children that they work with.
