Support Worker – Supported Living.
Are you friendly, patient, calm, enjoy working with others and want to make a difference to someone’s life? If so, then this position may be right for you?
We are young vulnerable adults who have mild to moderate learning disabilities and difficulties. We live in Mirfield where we live independently, but with support to help us manage day-to-day living.
We enjoy exactly the same things as other young people – we watch TV (the soaps, crime programmes, music channels, Top Gear etc), go on trips out and take part in a wide range of social activities, including bingo, going to pubs and clubs, holidays, leisure breaks and shopping. We are helped to plan menus and cook our own meals, but can do a lot of things for ourselves.
We are looking for two full time. Ideally, you will be the sort of person who enjoys the company of young people, who has a wide range of hobbies and interests that you would like to share with us, and have no problem working evenings, weekends and overnight. Ideally, you will have done this sort of work before, but maybe not in this type of setting.
Ambitions 4 Kirklees would be your employer, as they are the people who we have chosen to provide our care. You will receive the minimum hourly rate for the duration of your shift including the overnight sleep-in, the Company Pension scheme, training and development and a fixed shift pattern so that you can manage your time on and off duty. They follow a policy of Safer Recruitment, so you will need to make a full application in writing and go through a proper selection process – we will be helping to choose who will work with us, so you will get to meet us then.
