We have an excellent opportunity for Support Workers to work across our Supported Living and Domiciliary Service based in Market Rasen on either a part time or full time (37.5 hours a week) basis. We can be flexible with the number of hours offered and will consider applications from all interested candidates.
Flexibility is a must as you will need to be available to work across various shifts between the hours of 07:00am- 22:00pm to include days, evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins. Shifts within supported living will include hours between 07:00 – 22:00 and sleep in support between 22:00 – 07:00. Shifts within domiciliary will include hours between 08:00 – 18:15.
The role of a Support Worker is very varied where no two days are the same but most importantly the role is very rewarding! You will support adults with a range of disabilities to lead a fulfilling and enriched life which they choose. You will support individuals with a person-centred approach following their individual assessments and support plans. You will work as part of a small, friendly team and at times be required to make decisions using your own initiative.
If you are a driver it would be a bonus but is not necessary as everywhere in Market Rasen can be reached by a short walk! It is important that you have a good sense of humour and are fun, enjoy participating in activities and be respectful to individual needs.
About the Services
Our Supported Living house is staffed 24 hours a day seven days a week. Currently there are three individuals living in the property - a married couple and one other lady. The individuals do a range of activities including maintaining their home with support staff, attend day centres, voluntary jobs, shopping, going on days out, eating out, meeting family and friends....the list is endless!
Domiciliary is currently made up of five people we support who live in their own homes. Each person is an individual and their support is again person centred to their needs. The support will be varied from supporting with maintaining their home, support with shopping and meal planning, support with post, support to access the community and wellbeing checks. Once again, the list is endless and will vary from one day to another.
What does a Support Worker do?
As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality. Typical responsibilities may include:
Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
Relationship building – supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
Community & Social Inclusion - supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom. Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.
