What does a Support Worker do?

As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will enormously contribute to the people we support, living a more comfortable and happy life.

At our service in Hucknall we support with the below;

Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom.
Supporting people to live happy and fulfilling lives– budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
Community & Social Inclusion- Supporting people with learning disabilities to access and participate in their local community and Social events to promote life skills and independence.Experience with Epilepsy/Cerebral Palsy would be beneficial. Some of the people we support are also Non Verbal so it will be key to learn/know some different communication techniques.

Shifts will vary, depending on the day and whom you’ll be supporting but we require flexibility to cover three key shifts: 07:00 – 14:30, 14:30 – 22:00 and a Sleep-in/Waking Night shift which is 22:00 – 07:00. We also require flexibility to work at the weekends.
