Job Description

You will need to be resilient, emotionally, and physically fit to do this role. You will need to have flexibility to cover shifts which would include earlies, lates, weekends, and bank holidays.

We are also looking for waking night staff.

To assist with your own personal and professional development; you will be invited to attend our unique Gray Healthcare Training Programme.

This will consist of 7-8 inclusive days and includes workshops such has: Psychological Support, Communication Skills and Clinical Interventions to ensure you are supported to develop the skills to meet the holistic needs of a person with complex care needs.

I need you to be outgoing and easy to talk to, I can vocalise very loudly at times and for extended periods. I need you to be understanding and non-judgemental so you can support me to manage my needs, develop good routines and build positive, trusting relationships.

Main ResponsibilitiesAs a Support Worker, you will be key in supporting adults with complex needs within their own home and within the community. We are looking for positive, compassionate, and caring support workers who have the right values and attitude to grow and develop with Gray healthcare. We are looking for flexible motivated candidates who are willing and have the ability to participate in a Back Up rota when required.

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people we support improve; being able to do something today that they couldn’t do last week because of you.

The Ideal CandidateWhat are we looking for?

We are looking for candidates who share our values, understand the importance of a consistent and empathetic approach, whilst staying calm and professional when presented with a pressurised situation. You need to be a team player with effective communication skills, be experienced in using digital records and care plans, and electronic rostering systems.

You will need to possess an NVQ/QCF Level 3 or equivalent, or be willing to work towards. You will be motivated and have a can-do attitude, and work within a Positive Behaviour Support Framework.

Must be willing to be part of a back up rota.
